অাসানসোল (Āsānsol)

অাসানসোল (Āsānsol) on the Chota Nagpur Plateau between the Damodar and Ajay rivers, and in the West Bardhaman District of the Burdwan Division of western পশিচণবনগ (Paścimbangga1), भारत (Bhārat2), is the center of a metropolitan area of 1.243 million,3 about twice the city's size of 564 thousand.4 The area is industrial, based upon the Ranigunj Coalfields and the railroad's trunk line, and is in economic decline. The IISCO Steel Plant in Burnput visually represents the move from coal to locomotive workshops to ferrous industries.
