Arnhem

Arnhem, called Èrnem in a local non-standard dialect of Dutch, is renowned for its parks and green spaces, and has been located along the Rijn (Rhine) since 1530, when the river course changed. One of the attractions is the Nederlands Open Air Museum (Nederlands Openluchtmuseum) with houses, farms and industry of the past. Its soccer stadium, the Gelredome, is said to be the first with both a retractable roof and a sliding glass pitch. The tallest building is a TV tower, the KEMA tower, considerably higher than Eusebiuskerk1, the reconstructed church on the site of the one destroyed in World War II. The city has over 100 thousand residents.2
