Ankara is the capital of Türkiye (Turkey) and is located along a tributary of the Sakarya River centered on a small hill at just under 1000 meters elevation. It has 4.1 million residents.1 It was formerly known as Angora. The tallest building is the 160 meter, 33 story, Portakal Çiçeği Tower, soon to be opened for residences.2 The city also features the classically-styled Anitkabir, a mausoleum for Atatürk, the Kocatepe Mosque (1987) and the Akatule Tower, with its rotating observation deck and restaurant.
