Amiens is a city of 133 thousand1 located along the Somme River and capital of the Somme Department in the Picardie (Picardy) Region of France. The Notre-Dame cathedral is double honored as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, once in iself and again as part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela in France.2 The cathedral (13th to 16th century) is the city's tallest building (370 feet), with a height under the vault of the nave of more than 42 meters. The tallest modern building is the Tour (tower) Perret (361 feet, 1952).3
