Allahabad is the sixth largest metropolis(1) in Uttar Pradesh(2), India(3), with 1.2 million people in the metropolis (1.3 million in the city proper, 2007). It is located at the confluence of the Yamuna(4) and the Ganga (Ganges). Its monuments include the 16th century Allahabad fort (with older items within it), the Patthar Girja (All Saints' Cathedral) and the tomb of the Emperor Khusru.
