Agra is the fourth largest city in Uttar Pradesh(1), India(2), with 1.6 million people in the metropolis (1.5 million in the city proper, 2007). It is located on the south bank of the Yamuna (Jumna) River in the southwest corner of the state. Its most famous monument is a mausoleum, the Taj Mahal, but it also has the Agra Fort(3).
