Abbeville is a city of 24 thousand1 located along the lower course of the Somme River, in the Somme Department in the Picardie (Picardy) Region of France. A belfry there is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site honoring "Belfries of Belgium and France."2 Most of the city was destroyed during World War II. Perhaps the tallest structures today are the water tower (338 feet) and Mont Caubert Telecommunications Tower (328 feet).3
